GUNVOR verdankt ihren Vornamen ihrem Grossvater, der mit seinen Eltern aus Schweden nach Bern umzog. Nein, mit dem Mikrofon kam sie 1974 nicht auf die Welt, aber die Liebe zur Musik wurde ihr in die Wiege gelegt.

Mit 13 Jahren fand sie ihre Leidenschaft und eine neue Herausforderung: den Steptanz. Während sich Mitschüler an freien Nachmittagen im Freibad trafen, übte GUNVOR "Shufflesteps" für die nächste Choreographie. Sie wurde mit 16 Jahren Schweizermeisterin im Steptanzen in den Sparten Solo und Formation. Dave Brubeck, George Gershwin und Frank Sinatra Songs begleiteten sie durch ihre Jugend. Die tänzerischen Inspirationen holte sie sich von ihren Vorbildern wie Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire und Ginger Rodgers.

Sie ist 7-fache Schweizermeisterin im Steptanzen (Solo, Duo und Formation) und erreichte im Duo an der Weltmeisterschaft im Jahr 1994 den 5. Platz.

1997 gewann GUNVOR das GOLDENE MIKROFON und der GOLDENE SCHEINWERFER von Radio DRS. Ende 1997 gewann GUNVOR die Schweizer Vorentscheidung zum Eurovision Song Contest. 1998 vertrat sie die Schweiz am ESC in Birmingham/GB mit ihrer Eigenkomposition "Lass ihn".

2003/2004 spielte GUNVOR im Musical Theater Basel, der BEAbern expo und der Maag Music Hall die "Crissy" im Musical HAIR.

In 2013 gründet GUNVOR zusammen mit ihrem Ehemann Roland die Firma RMGM und später den Musikverlag RMGM Roland Meyer for Gunvor Music & Books KLG. Unter dem Label RMGM wird Musik produziert und Bookings koordiniert.

Seit 2017 arbeitet Gunvor mit dem Produzenten Jens Gad in Hollywood zusammen. RMGM produzierte mit Jens Gad die Alben 001 (a tribute to James Bond), das Kindermusical "Der kleine Mats" und das Dance Album GUNVOR Dance School.
Die beiden Künstler bieten auch Songwriting für KünstlerInnen oder Firmen an.

GUNVOR owes her first name to her grandfather, who moved with his family from Sweden to Berne. No, she did not come to the earth with a microphone in 1974, but the love of music was put into her cradle.

At the age of 13 she found her passion and a new challenge: TAP DANCE. While schoolmates met outside in the summer, GUNVOR practiced "Shufflesteps" for the next choreography. At the age of 16, she became Swiss champion in the field of solo and formation. Dave Brubeck, George Gershwin and Frank Sinatra songs accompanied her through her youth. She was inspired by the dancers: Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers. 

From 1990 - 1994 GUNVOR was 7 times Swiss champion in tap dancing (solo, duo and formation) and she was 5th in duo at the world championship in 1994. 

In 1997 GUNVOR won DAS GOLDENE MIKROFON and DEN GOLDENEN SCHEINWERFER from Radio DRS. At the end of 1997 GUNVOR won the Swiss preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1998 she represented Switzerland at the ESC in Birmingham/GB with her own composition "Lass ihn".
